There are many ways for you to become meaningfully involved in bringing about favorable change to the Connecticut’s criminal justice system that calls for diverse skill sets and personal interests.

Education & Advocacy

• Buy a copy of The Justice Imperative
• Share the information in the Book with others
• Write, telephone, email or visit your elected officials and voice your support for specific legislative proposals. For a list of your legislative delegation and their contact information, click here.
• Volunteer with social service agencies involved with the formerly incarcerated and their families. Most organizations in the field are under-resourced and would welcome your support

• Write Letters to the Editor and Op-Ed pieces for newspapers and other media
• Identify business, fraternal church, civic, academic and other groups that would be receptive to a presentation about Connecticut’s criminal justice system and incarceration practices;

And, most importantly:

• Consider hiring the formerly incarcerated. On an individual basis, this can be the most impactful initiative that one can provide to someone recently released from prison.

Malta Justice Associates

We need your support as we prepare for the 2015 Legislative session. We have developed a plan to communicate with our Legislators and need a strong network of people to execute it. Please consider becoming a Malta Justice Associate, a network group representing a broad cross-section of Connecticut citizens who will become a critical means to communicate with Legislators and others.
